Yellow Spots
Yellow splotches of uncured leaves are occasionally observed in otherwise cured tobacco. The cause of the uncured areas is unknown, but has been associated with certain varieties, high nitrogen fertility, and dry growing seasons followed by normal or wet curing conditions.
There is no quick fix for this problem. Affected leaves should be removed before baling to avoid having large amounts of leaf downgraded. With enough time the color of affected leaves will improve as the leaf cycles in and out of order, but the color will never be even.
