Yellow Nutsedge

Yellow Nutsedge

Yellow nutsedge may sometimes be called swamp grass or nut grass, but it is not a grass at all. Close inspection reveals a triangular shaped stem. The weed can be difficult to control because it produces rhizomes and tubers underground. These structures can be broken up and spread by cultivation with each piece often producing a new plant.
