Morning Glory

Morning Glory

There are several species of morning glory that can be found invading tobacco fields. The one shown here is ivyleaf morning glory. Morning glory will intertwine and grow up nearby tobacco stalks. This can cause leaf breakage during cutting. The vine may stay with the stalk through harvest and curing creating the potential for a higher incidence of non-tobacco-related-material (NTRM) in the cured leaf.
