Cool Weather Stress
Tobacco is a plant of tropical origin and thus is not well adapted to cool spring weather during early growth. Periods of cool weather following several warm days can lead to bud stress and will be seen as yellowed, constricted areas on leaves that were developing at the time the stress occured.
Weather-induced yellowing is temporary and most plants recover quickly, but affected crops may be more prone to the development of ground suckers and early blooms.
