Angular Leaf Spot
Angular leaf spot is a bacterial disease. Heavy rains can drive the pathogen into leaves and cause significant problems in some fields. Spots appear angular when limited by leaf veins.
Angular leaf spot lesions continue to expand under favorable conditions, but will generally be limited by the larger leaf veins. When abundant, bacteria may "ooze" from infection sites so that lesions appear shiny or wet. (Photo: William Nesmith, UK)
